Just in time for NICU Awareness Month, I was able to sit down with Aisha and Ashley for the Dear NICU Mama podcast. We had such a natural and organic connection, and the conversation flowed seamlessly.
Rarely do I get to chat with other NICU moms, but when I do, there is an undeniable sisterhood. Within each other, I think we can see an intangible bond that comes from the emotions felt in the NICU. I felt this in both of them.

We were able to chat about my twins’ 101-day NICU stay, the survival mode I lived in for years and, perhaps most importantly, what I did with my pain.
What is funny is that they weren’t even aware of Cards of Hope prior to our conversation. They wanted me to be on the podcast simply to talk about our 101 days in the NICU and how I share about it on my social media platforms. This may have been the best part—watching them organically learn about how I have figured out how to use my art to help other mothers.
I loved sharing how, nine years later, our story is now more sweet than bitter.
I hope listeners, if nothing else, hear that it can get better. It truly can, and I am proof of this.
