When I set out to write a book, I knew it would be hard. What I underestimated was the kind of resilience it would ask of me.
I have never poured this much time, energy, or emotion into a creative endeavor. This book has asked more of me than anything I’ve made before. In return, it has offered me a clearer understand of my own story and the symbols within it.
As the manuscript continues to be polished, a new body of work is unfolding alongside it.
I’ve found myself returning to my old washed-out watercolor style, layered with splatters that are both chaotic and intentional. Woven into each piece are typewritten words that I created from a typewriter I purchased last summer. The words are pulled directly from my memoir. They are chapter titles, phrases and affirmations of this story I am learning how to tell.

You may have seen some of these works on social media, but know that they will make much more sense once this book is published. For now it's my way of letting you in, little by little.
If you’d like to learn more about the book and why it is so important to me, I have created a page dedicated to the memoir. Visit here to check it out.
